Installation: Famous 5-minute install

  1. Unzip the package in an empty directory and upload everything.
  2. Open wp-admin/install.php in your browser. It will take you through the process to set up a wp-config.php file with your database connection details.
    1. If for some reason this does not work, do not worry. It may not work on all web hosts. Open up wp-config-sample.php with a text editor like WordPad or similar and fill in your database connection details.
    2. Save the file as wp-config.php and upload it.
    3. Open wp-admin/install.php in your browser.
  3. Once the configuration file is set up, the installer will set up the tables needed for your site. If there is an error, double check your wp-config.php file, and try again. If it fails again, please go to the WordPress support forums with as much data as you can gather.
  4. If you did not enter a password, note the password given to you. If you did not provide a username, it will be admin.
  5. The installer should then send you to the login page. Sign in with the username and password you chose during the installation. If a password was generated for you, you can then click on “Profile” to change the password.

Updating

Using the Automatic Updater

  1. Open wp-admin/update-core.php in your browser and follow the instructions.
  2. You wanted more, perhaps? That’s it!

Updating Manually

  1. Before you update anything, make sure you have backup copies of any files you may have modified such as index.php.
  2. Delete your old WordPress files, saving ones you’ve modified.
  3. Upload the new files.
  4. Point your browser to /wp-admin/upgrade.php.

Migrating from other systems

WordPress can import from a number of systems. First you need to get WordPress installed and working as described above, before using our import tools.

Herzlich Willkommen. WordPress ist ein ganz besonderes Projekt für mich. Jeder Entwickler und Mitwirkende fügt dazu etwas einmaliges bei und zusammen erschaffen wir etwas so Wunderbares, dass ich stolz bin, ein Teil davon zu sein. Tausende von Stunden flossen in WordPress ein und wir arbeiten gemeinsam daran, es täglich noch ein bisschen besser zu machen. Vielen Dank, dass du es zu einem Teil deiner Welt machst.

Installation: Die berühmte 5-Minuten Installation

  1. Entpacke die Datei in ein leeres Verzeichnis und lade alles auf den Server hoch.
  2. Gehe mit deinem Browser zu /wp-admin/install.php. Die Installationsroutine leitet dich durch die einzelnen Schritte und hilft dir, die Datei wp-config.php mit den Zugangsdaten für eine Datenbankverbindung anzulegen.
    1. Sollte die automatische Konfiguration nicht funktionieren (die automatische Konfiguration wird nicht von jedem Webhoster unterstützt), kannst du die Konfigurationsdatei auch selbst anlegen. Öffne dazu die Datei wp-config-sample.php mit einem reinen Texteditor wie WordPad oder ähnlichem (nicht Word!) und trage die Zugangsdaten zu deiner Datenbank ein.
    2. Speichere die Datei jetzt als wp-config.php ab und lade sie auf den Server hoch.
    3. Öffne danach in deinem Browser /wp-admin/install.php.
  3. Bei der Installation werden nun die Datenbanktabellen erstellt, die für deine Website benötigt werden. Erscheinen Fehlermeldungen, sieh dir die Zugangsdaten in der Datei wp-config.php noch mal ganz genau an und versuche es erneut mit den richtigen Daten. Wenn die Installation immer noch nicht funktioniert, wende dich mit so vielen Informationen wie möglich bei den Anlaufstellen für Support.
  4. Bitte merk dir dein Passwort (besonders, wenn du es nicht selbst ausgewählt hast).
  5. Das Installationsskript schickt dich anschließend zur Anmeldeseite. Melde dich mit deinem Benutzernamen und Passwort an, welches du während der Installation angegeben hast. Wenn dein Passwort generiert wurde, kannst du auf Benutzer / Dein Profil klicken um das Passwort zu ändern.

Aktualisierung

Bevor du überhaupt irgendetwas aktualisierst, vergewissere dich, dass du von allen Dateien und von der Datenbank ein vollständiges Backup angelegt hast.

Automatische Aktualisierung

  1. Öffne wp-admin/update-core.php in deinem Webbrowser und folge den Anweisungen.
  2. Du willst mehr? Das war es schon!

Manuelle Aktualisierung

  1. Sichere alle eigenen Dateien, insbesondere die Konfigurationsdatei wp-config.php, den Ordner wp-content und (soweit vorhanden) die Datei .htaccess.
  2. Lösche alle übrigen WordPress-Dateien.
  3. Lade die neuen Dateien hoch. Achte darauf, dass deine eigenen Dateien im Ordner wp-content dabei nicht überschrieben werden.
  4. Gehe mit deinem Browser zu /wp-admin/upgrade.php.

Übertragung aus anderen Systemen

WordPress kann eine ganze Reihe (en) von anderen Systemen importieren. Bevor du die Daten importieren kannst, sollte WordPress wie beschrieben installiert und in Betrieb sein.
